Middleton, WI Middleton, WI Full-time Full-time From $60,000 a year From $60,000 a year 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago Fristam Pumps USA, a leading manufacturer of pumps and mixers for the food, dairy and pharmaceutical industries located in Middleton, WI has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, results-driven individual to join our Polishing department as the Polishing & Welding Supervisor.
This position will be responsible for leading production associates on assigned shifts, ensuring that the department has adequate resources to meet the company's targets, and that all pump parts meet company quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
Carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; resolving problems Create an environment of continuous improvement by ensuring proper training is being done in the department; maintain adequate staffing and proper tools and equipment necessary to ensure workload can be done.
Establish or adjust work assignments to meet production deadlines or account for factors that impact polishing and/or welding jobs.
Ensure that all departmental equipment and tools are properly maintained; direct the setup and maintenance of departmental equipment.
Establish and maintain standard polishing/welding procedures; develop new polishing/welding processes as needed.
Establish performance metrics to communicate departmental performance and improvement.
Review polishing and welding costs including overtime and other departmental budget items; justify new equipment and tool purchases; manage the purchase of departmental supplies.
What You Bring with You (Qualifications/Experience):
Post-secondary education in management, business or relevant technical field preferred with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
In lieu of post-secondary education, minimum of a high school diploma or GED with 10 years' of proven experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required Mechanical aptitude Solid knowledge of welding fundamentals and techniques desired Knowledge of process improvement & production standards Strong verbal & written communication & presentation skills Solid computer skills with a strong aptitude working in an ERP or related system Planning, problem-solving & attention to detail What We Offer:
